Miss Beddoe and Miss Blight welcome you to Year 6! 

We look forward to a fantastic year of exciting learning.

This half term, we will be learning all about evolution in Science asking, "How have animals adapted to their environment and what evidence do we have to support evolution?" In Geography, we will be learning about the rainforests and why we need to protect these amazing places. We will be looking at surrealism in Art and we will have the opportunity to create our own surrealist art. 

In maths, we will be focussing on place value and ensuring we have a good understanding of number before moving on to addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

This term, our PE lessons will be on a Tuesday. Please ensure your PE kit is in school on your peg with the correct School PE kit – we do have spare PE kit if needed. Sometimes, we may move PE depending on weather or slot in an extra session, so having it in school on your peg ready is ideal! 

We are lucky to have Forest School sessions with Mr Spriggs on a Monday this half term where we will be learning how to survive the rainforest. Please bring outdoor clothes that you don't mind getting dirty and extra shoes (wellies are ideal) into school on a Monday. We will be outside in all weathers so please bring layers and waterproofs. 

Homework will be set on a Friday and is due back in on the following Thursday which includes a piece of maths and reading. Those who are unable to complete their homework will be given time with an adult on a Friday Lunchtime to complete their homework. Remember to practise your times tables at home on TTRS and read every day too!
