Welcome to Menabilly Class

We will start the half term with science, where we will be looking at rocks as we answer our inquiry question;

“What are the different types of rocks on Earth and how are they made?”

We have lots more exciting opportunities planned, including studying and being inspired to create our own ‘pop art’. The children will plan, make and evaluate their own artwork. In our literacy lessons we will be developing our understanding of the place value of punctuation and grammar. Over the coming weeks, we will be exploring the novel “The Wild Robot” during our whole class reading sessions.  

In maths we will be continuing to learn about place value and it’s importance in understanding number. We will then progress to addition and subtraction. In P.E we will be developing our skills in dance skills exploring balance, movement and rhythm. Towards the end of the half term, we will be preparing for Christmas with arts and crafts and look forward to our pantomime performance.

Children will be expected to access the “Times Table Rockstars” (TTRS) platform three times a week at home, for 10-15 minutes each time. This helps the children to develop their multiplication skills. We also expect the children to read five times a week. Please document this in their reading record.

We will continue to use Class Dojo to share important class messages. Please make sure you check the app regularly, as this will also show you the Dojo points your child receives each day.

Menabilly have P.E on Friday each week, please ensure that your child's kit is in school each day.
