Class 6

Welcome to the Spring term in Year 6. We hope that you have had a wonderful Christmas break and are excited to begin the new term. The adults in Year 6 continue to be the same with Mrs Ford as your teacher and your teaching assistants are Mrs Skelton and Mr Borders.

We have lots of exciting content that we will study together this term, for example we will be studying Victorians in History, Light in Science, textiles in Art and learning to speak French. To help make our lessons even more interesting we will be having an experience day related to our Victorians topic. Later in the second part of the spring term, we will embark on our D.T project – creating a moving fairground ride!

Although we are all back to school, we must regularly wash our hands and catch any coughs or sneezes in our elbow!  You should aim to arrive at school for 8.45am, where your class teacher will greet you.

This half term we are linking forest school to our Geography topic of 'The Rainforest'.
In order to survive in the rainforest, it is important to follow the river and hope to find civilisation.  We have used our knot tying skills to build our own rafts.  The challenge was - would they float?
